Klaipėda's ballroom and Latin dance school, founded by a world and European champion. Standard and Latin dances for kids from age 3 and adults, taught to WDSF international standards.
The school was founded by Dmitrij Popov — multiple-time world and European champion in Latin formation and an LSSF judge.
Classes run in 4 locations across the city — pick the one closest to home.
Come in and see if Tendance is the right place for your child (or for you). No commitment.
Five classic dances: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep. Standard develops elegant posture, a sense of partnership and musical understanding.
Five energetic dances: Samba, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive. Latin builds speed, rhythm, muscle flexibility and confidence.
In Lithuania, ballroom and Latin dance is organised under the qualification class system of the Lithuanian DanceSport Federation (LSSF) (Qualification Class Regulations, 06 Dec 2023):
Class and age group are two independent categories. A dancer competes in their WDSF age group and in their qualification class:
Example labelling: "Juveniles II E4 LA" — a dancer aged 10–11, qualification class E4, Latin program.
Under separate LSSF rules (Qualification Class Regulations – Solo Latin, 30 Oct 2024), Solo Latin dancers compete without a partner. A special E2 class has been introduced for Juveniles — a first step into competition for kids just starting the Latin program.
Every Tendance dancer has a clear path of progress — from Children's E2 all the way to Youth S class and international WDSF tournaments.
Playful dance classes. Coordination, rhythm, first steps. 1–2 sessions of 45 min per week.
First E-class competitions. Foundations of the Standard and Latin programs. 2–3 sessions per week.
Professional coaches, qualification classes from D up to Open (C, B, A, S), international competitions. 3–5 sessions per week.
Amateur groups, private lessons, wedding dance preparation. Flexible schedule.
Not at the start. Kids begin in group classes where we learn the movements without a partner. Pairs are formed later, once dancers reach a certain level. Adults are welcome either with a partner or on their own.
To begin with, comfortable non-slip shoes. Later (after 2–3 months) you'll need proper ballroom dance shoes. Our administrator will help you order them.
No. Many of our dancers come purely for the joy, fitness and community. Competitions are an option, not an obligation.
You'll see the first results after 2–3 months. The first E2-class competition usually comes after 6–10 months, depending on age and how often they train.
The first class is a free trial. No preparation needed — just come along.
